Bharathanatyam 2 : Mohiniyattam - A superior sequel

The film stars Saiju Kurup , Suraj Venjaramoodu , Jagadish , Vinay Forrt , Baby Jean , Kalaranjini , Sreeja Ravi and more. It is directed by Krishnadas Murali. Saiju Kurup has done a fabulous job as Sasidharan Nair. Suraj Venjaramoodu has done a commendable perfomance as Govindaraja. Baby Jean is excellent as Subhash. Jagadish has done a great perfomance as Eapen ( Butcher). Kalaranjini and Sreeja Ravi have done their parts wonderfully. The film begins after the death of Bharathan Nair , from where the first film ended. Sasidharan Nair along with his family , travels to Sreekandapuram in an effort to secure the future of Rukmini and her son. Their attempt to settle Bharathan Nair's second family into a new home gradually leads them into a fresh set of unexpected complications , shifting the narrative seamlessly from a subtle emotional comedy into a dark comedy that lies into the crime thriller territory. The first half of the film introduces the new characters and establishes the story of the film. Once the story is established , in the second half the film becomes fast paced and provides tons of laughs through humor that is unapologetically dark. The cinematography by Bablu Aju is stylish and creates tense visuals. The music by Electronic Killi is energetic and suits the mood of the film perfectly. Overall - A bolder and more humorous than its original and is engaging to the core.
