The film stars Mohanlal , Prithviraj , Indrajith , Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas and more. It is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Empuraan is the type of film that wants to make a whole industry proud but tries to be way too much international and instead of a movie it's like a 3hr flight which covers so many locations but loses the engine and crashes in most of the scenes. Here in this review the engine is basically the execution and the flight is Mohanlal. The premise of the film is quite complicated but the director has done a good job in making the film in a way that the audience could understand without any sort of complicated political terms and unnecessary social commentary. The film starts off by showing a gruesome and emotional flashback of a broken Prithviraj, and basically the start of this film is what forms the premise. Lucifer is the first part and the reason that film was a hit is because of its classy and subtle but impactful dialogues and Mohanlal's effortless style. But in the second part which is empuraan the biggest distraction is the budget if he really used half of it for helicopters and stuff then I would say everything was a waste because there are so many other things which are important and the AI done for Mohanlal in the second half and post credits. In the post credits after showing so many countries and stuff we end up in a fish market with a weird fully edited Mohanlal with a bob cut fighting goons stabbing them and then we end off. Music by Deepak Dev is average. The only thing appealing in this film is the visuals which are dark and has a charcoally tone to it. Manju Warrier and the other actors have done a good job. And the speech scene in the second half with Manju Warrier is powerful and impactful. Overall - A movie that can also be used for geographical knowledge.
