Dude - A progressive concept made with zero sensitivity

The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan , Mamitha Baiju , Sarathkumar , Rohini and more. It is directed by debutant Keerthiswaran. The opening sequence of dude sets the tone of the film well with a fun and hilarious wedding chase sequence. Pradeep does his part accordingly and impresses with his screen presence and style as Agan. Mamitha Baiju does a great job as Kural. Sarathkumar steals the show as Athiyamaan Azhagapan with his hilarious transformation during the pre-interval scene. Childhood friends Agan and Kural are inseparable. When Kural encounters romantic troubles , Agan must balance his hidden feelings for her with his desire to ensure her happiness. The concept is very beautiful but the way Keerthiswaran has handled it in such a desensitized and careless manner disappoints. Music by Sai Abhyankkar is good. The main positive of the film is the pre-interval sequence where the conflict arises and the comedy hits perfectly. Niketh Bommi's cinematography is impressive and the editing by Barath Vikraman is great. There is also another important character played by Hridhu Haroon and Keerthiswaran dosen't provide a good character arc for him. Overall - Partly works and mainly falters with its writing.
