Raayan - High octane action sequences and the colour grading makes this film a winner.

The film stars Dhanush , Selvaraghavan , Dushara Vijayan , Aparna Balamurali , Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram. And it is directed by Dhanush himself. Now let's get into the film. The film starts off with a black and white sequence which just shows a flashback for Raayan and the love he has for his family. The film's first half goes smoothly and gives a big hope for the second half. But the second half fails to fully satisfy us due to the noticeable drag and the twists were good. The reason for the bloodshed is quite noticeable from the first flashback. The casting was absolutely perfect and one thing i have to say is give more chances to the child actors in this film beacause, they have done such a beautiful job in the film. AR Rahman's music is brilliant especially the song O Raaya it showcases the trauma of Raayan so beautifully and a hatsoff to whoever wrote that song and the placement of that song is very apt. The red and blue color grades were beautiful almost like the mix of trauma and rage in this film. The actors have done a great job especially Dushara Vijayan her powerful acting as Durga really had me shocked. And if you notice in all of the fight sequences like in the climax fight when Dhanush is coming out of smoke and while he is they showcase him with 10 heads and that's what shows how carefully he has put elements of demons in this film and it really suits the style of the film. Each set piece is made really well especially the climax set piece. The action choreography by Peter Hein is superb. Overall - A well made revenge drama that has sprayed powerful esscence with some well made action scenes and well written characters.
