Thug Life - A visual spectacle

The film stars Kamal Hassan , Silambarasan TR , Nasser , Abhirami and more. It is directed by Mani Ratnam. Ravi.K Chandran has done a stellar job with the visuals making, each frame like a fresh breeze of air. The first half starts off with a wonderful black and white sequence which showcases Kamal Hassan in a vintage Nayakan look and the excellently done deaging makes it even more appealing. Nasser has done a good job. STR has done a mature performance as Amaran. Kamal Hassan as always does a fantastic job. Mani Ratnam and Kamal Hassan's script doesn't allow the film to shine and the romantic scenes with Trisha and Kamal Hassan are very poorly done. Joju George has done a fabulous job as Pathrose. Kamal Hassan's hair in the 2nd half looks like he got an electric shock and the Yakuza reference was not at all needed. AR Rahman's music is brilliant especially in the first half, Jinguchaa is a groovy marriage song like Kanimaa , Vinveli Nayaga showcases Shruthi Hassan's vocal range so there is a variety of songs in this film. Overall- A decent watch letdown by a script that didn't pack a punch.
